When it comes to encouraging youth to adopt healthy lifestyles, it’s important for health coaches and fitness professionals to have a solid understanding of their unique physical and psychosocial needs. Designed specifically for allied health professionals, this course explores the variables that increase a child’s risk for obesity and health risks associated with childhood obesity. You’ll also learn prevention and treatment strategies that incorporate current recommendations for physical activity among youth.

  • To explain the importance of developing fundamental movement skills (FMS) and participating in regular physical activity early in life

  • How to develop a plan of action for young clients diagnosed with exercise deficit disorder (EDD) using current youth fitness guidelines
