Function and Footwear

The rise of different types of footwear—including toning shoes, “barefoot” shoes and pronation control shoes—has made it difficult to know which options function best for your clients. In this course, you’ll learn how the foot reacts to different footwear options. You’ll also explore long-term effects of specific shoe types, and key dos and don’ts to keep in mind.

You will learn:

  • How footwear changes gait at various speeds

  • Human biomechanical advantages and how to train clients to utilize them

  • How to make recommendations on what to look for when purchasing shoes
